In 2021 I had my 8 year old son enroll in chess camp. Last year my son now 9, enrolled again and he talked my 7 year old daughter into it. They both did chess camp in 2022, and they loved it. I'm hoping Venetian Bay combines it with Jr. Golf this year.  Chess and golf are both strategic and I love that they learn how to compete in a calm, self assured manner. Brian is great with them. I highly recommend VB Chess Camp.

My 10 year old daughter loves chess camp. I  would highly recommend it. We can't wait for this year's camp. Brian is incredible with kids. He is a warm and compassionate teacher, and it is amazing to see how they relate to him.

My two sons, 8 and 9, participated in Brian Ashley’s chess camp for the first time last summer and to say they loved it would be an understatement. They looked forward to it each day, and picked up the complex game quickly and easily. Mr. Ashley was patient and attentive and went through all aspects of the game with them in an age appropriate manner so they could understand the rules and play correctly. Both of them developed a love of the game while there and have continued playing throughout the year since. They will be participating in chess camp again this year and each year he has it.

My 8 year old son has attended Mr. Ashley’s chess camp for the past two summers. He went into the camp having basic knowledge of the game and by the end of the camp was talking my ear off about various strategies and wanting to show off his new skills. Mr. Ashley does a great job of taking his time to explain the game and works with the kids individually as well as a group. My son also loved meeting the other kids who shared an interest in chess and raved about the lunch provided by the clubhouse each day. Overall a great camp and highly recommend!
